HOW YOU BENEFIT

Six reasons UK businesses are switching right now

For suitable sites, solar turns a large unused roof into a productive asset — while reducing exposure to rising grid electricity costs.

01

Eliminate Rising Energy Costs

Grid electricity prices have risen over 70% in five years. Solar locks your rate — and with PPA, you start saving without spending a pound.

02

Immediate Cash Flow Benefit

From the first month of generation, your energy bill falls. With PPA, there's no payback period — savings begin day one of commissioning.

03

Net Zero & ESG Progress

Measurable Scope 2 carbon reduction — increasingly a prerequisite for enterprise procurement and investor relations.

04

Increased Asset Value

An owned solar system materially increases your commercial property's value — a direct return alongside the energy savings.

05

Energy Security

Generate your own power and reduce grid dependency. Add battery storage to retain surplus generation and cover peak demand periods.

06

Full Turnkey Delivery

Bee Eco handles everything — survey, design, permits, installation, grid connection, commissioning and ongoing monitoring.

FUNDING OPTIONS

Three ways to fund your commercial solar

We recommend the right structure for your business — whether you want to own the system or keep your capital free.

OPTION A

Direct Purchase

Own the system outright

Buy with capital and own from day one. Maximum long-term ROI — you capture 100% of the savings. Payback typically 5–8 years, then 17–20 years of effectively free electricity.

OPTION B

Asset Finance

Own it — spread the cost

Finance over 3–7 years via lease or hire purchase. Monthly repayments are typically offset by energy savings from month one — the system often pays for itself as you go.

OPTION C
most popular

PPA

Zero upfront — save from day one

We install and own the system. You pay only for the electricity it generates at a fixed rate below grid price. No capital, no maintenance, no risk. Immediate savings.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if we need to repair our roof during the term of the lease?
If roof repairs require removing part or all of the solar PV system, the arrangement and reinstatement will be handled at our cost. Repairs to the roof itself are undertaken at your expense unless the damage was caused by the solar PV system, in which case we will cover all associated work and costs.
We typically achieve savings of 10% to 30% compared to a client’s grid electricity tariff. The starting tariff (in pence per kWh) is adjusted annually based on the Retail Price Index (RPI).We work with roof areas of 1,400 m² to 14,000 m². The usable area after accounting for structural constraints and shading determines your system size. Our free site survey gives you an accurate picture.
Yes. Before leasing your roof space, consent must be sought from any lender holding a legal restriction over the property. With extensive experience working with most banks who are familiar with these schemes, objections are extremely rare.
Our remote monitoring equipment immediately alerts us to any faults, and resolving the problem falls under our long-term operations and maintenance contract. To minimize risks, we exclusively specify and install high-quality equipment backed by long-term warranties and guarantees.
If the property is sold or you move within the 25-year term, the roof space lease and Power Purchase Agreement transfer to the new building owner. They will then continue enjoying the benefits of clean, green electricity generated by the system.
Normally, your building must achieve an Energy Performance Rating of D or higher, though certain exclusions apply. If required, we can arrange this, though initial assessments cannot be included. By 2026, leasing a property with a rating lower than E becomes illegal, making a solar PV system an ideal method for property owners to improve building ratings.
Yes, you have the option to break the lease and purchase the solar PV system to receive free electricity and Feed-in Tariffs at any point during the term. Pricing details are outlined in the lease and typically deliver an attractive return on investment regardless of when you choose to buy.
Termination of the lease is permitted at any time during the 25-year term, subject to paying an agreed compensation. Details and calculation methods for this are established on an individual property basis and included in each lease agreement.
Yes. However, prior approval from your tenant is normally required. If you are willing to share the benefits of cheaper, clean electricity with them, there is no reason for them to object. Specific circumstances apply, and you should contact us for further information.

None. We cover 100% of the costs for design, equipment, installation, grid connection, ongoing maintenance, and monitoring. You only pay for the solar electricity your business actually consumes at the agreed discounted rate.

At the end of the agreement, you can choose to extend the PPA lease term, request that we safely decommission and remove the system at our expense, or transfer ownership of the solar system directly to your business free of charge.
A comprehensive structural survey is completed before any work begins. We utilize non-penetrating or manufacturer-approved mounting solutions designed to preserve existing roof warranties and maintain structural integrity throughout the term.
A dedicated smart meter monitors the precise amount of solar electricity generated and consumed on-site. You receive a simple monthly invoice calculated using your discounted kWh rate for the energy used, while any surplus is exported to the grid.
